The previous month I didn't get anywhere near as much painting done as I would've liked. After the last campaign day, I quickly started work on my Chaos Gargant which was meant to be done the previous month. He was a good fun model to use, and I got him painted up pretty quickly.

Anyway, onto the campaign day. This month we're using some new time of war rules and had a different battle plan for the day. Those interested can read them here. The battle plan is straight out of Balance of Power, the plan being "The Hidden Artefact". This plan involves an army fleeing with an artefact of power, hoping to escape pursuit. One unit in the army has been tasked with holding the artefact, and it's the job of the rest of the army to protect the unit so it can escape off the board. The pursuing army is hot on their heels, and has even sent some of their army ahead to cut the fleeing army off. In our case, while the forces of Order reclaimed some of the Idols of Power last month, the forces of Chaos and Destruction made off with a few. Hence, the forces of Order are in hot pursuit of Chaos (No Destruction forces this month) to try and reclaim the Idols.

Looking to next month, not quite sure where to take the campaign storyline at the moment. Definitely have some cool ideas for things that can be done in the Realm of Beasts, but just got to figure out how to fit them into the storyline. Plenty of painting to do as well, got my last month figures to paint up and a Chaos Warshrine on the bench as well. Lastly it looks like the Independent UK Pool Choices document will be updated in a few weeks. There was some talk before the day about switching due to the unknown future, but I think we'll stick to the doco for the duration of the campaign. So it'll be interesting to see if that has an impact on how big or small my army is.
